Kemp’s Mixed Martial Arts

Kemp’s Mixed Martial Arts, an established martial arts academy in South Nowra, approached me initially for assistance with website hosting.

However, after a thorough discussion, it became evident that their existing website was not effectively showcasing their values, offerings, and community impact.

The result? A fresh, high-performing WordPress website that not only reflects Kemps’s mission but also empowers the client to manage updates independently.

The Challenge

A Website That Didn’t Showcase The Business

Kemp’s MMA is a family-friendly martial arts gym, but the website had a male fight club vibe. The website wasn’t effectively communicating the right message or appealing to the right audience. The website was outdated and didn’t showcase the gym’s unique community-focused atmosphere or its variety of programs, including women-only Jiu-Jitsu.

The Solution

I was brought in to revitalise Kemp’s MMA’s online presence. I immersed myself in their business, getting to know their values, goals and target audience.

This allowed me to develop a comprehensive brand strategy that resonates with potential clients and accurately reflects Kemp’s.

I provided a range of services to achieve this transformation, including:

Digital and Website Audit: I conducted a thorough audit of Kemp’s existing website and analysed their Google Analytics and Google Search Console to identify areas for improvement and opportunities.
Brand Strategy: I developed a comprehensive brand strategy that repositioned Kemp’s MMA as the leading martial arts gym in Nowra, catering to families, individuals, and serious martial artists alike.
I started with a client avatar and went from there.
Visual Branding: I created a strong and modern visual identity, incorporating a bold colour palette and including Kemps Imagery to showcase the gym’s dynamic atmosphere and welcoming community. This included developing brand guidelines to ensure consistency across all platforms.
Copywriting: I rewrote all the website copy to align with the new brand strategy, ensuring a clear, engaging, and informative user experience. I used AI for the copy using the brand strategy, and using the research and auditing I did on their existing online presence.
As well as adding additional pages for Women’s Jiu Jitsu and Kemp’s Veterans Support Program.
Website Development & Design: I designed and built a user-friendly website that effectively communicates Kemp’s brand message and engages visitors.
The new website features a clean UX and an optimised responsive design.
Technical and On-Page SEO: I optimised the website for relevant keywords to improve search engine visibility and attract potential clients.
This included optimising page titles, meta descriptions, and image alt text, as well as ensuring the website was technically sound and easy for search engines to crawl.
